I've been following Billie Philips on her fashion and photographic adventures for a while now. I stumbled upon her blog and found it to be the perfect balance of fashion, beauty and photography. It partially inspired me to start my own blog and serves as one of my sources for inspiration.
Billie describes herself as an "aspiring photographer/graphic designer and fashion enthusiast." She is the author behind her self titled blog billiephilips, a combination of her travels, fashion endeavors, beauty must have's, and more. I had the pleasure of doing a short little interview with her. Enjoy!
1. What’s your name, how old are you, and where are you from?
My name is Billie Philips, I’m 17 years young, and I’m from a little city called Adelaide in Australia!
2. What’s the name of your blog?
It’s just my name, billiephilips because I couldn’t come up with anything better haha!
3. Why did you decide to make a blog and how did you begin to harness a following?
I started off on Instagram posting a lot of fashion and photography, and many of the people I followed and made friends with had some amazing blogs, so I thought I’d jump on the blogger train and start up my own! I don’t remember when exactly I started getting followers, it sort of grew gradually over the past year!
4. Where does the inspiration come from your blog?
I’m inspired by many fashion bloggers, like Shelby Hamilton, Bella from bonesstyling, Freya from thefreckleclub, Cathy from eclecticfashion, and many more. I also am inspired from photos and articles in magazines like Russh, Yen and Frankie!
5. What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out with blogging?
Try to be yourself, and showcase it through your photos! Originality is key these days, the more ‘you’ you are, the better! It’s good to be inspired by people, but it’s another thing to get trapped into their ideas and almost copying them. My best advice would be to post and write about the things you love the most, things that make you happy, the things that make you you!
Hope you all enjoyed this interview! Be sure to check out Billie's blog here. Until next time,
