I am currently writing to you from a very gross and rainy Manhattan, NYC and am cooped up in my apartment. So, I thought I would take this opportunity to show you all what my makeup has been like recently. I like to keep things pretty basic when it comes to doing my makeup as I usually don't have that much time to go all out during the week. Here are just a few items I've been loving.
I have been wearing this blush for months now, and I cannot rave enough about it. I'm the type of person who can't leave my house without having a little color in my cheeks. This blush is subtle but still gives you just enough to add structure to your face. Truly a gorgeous color for everyday wear.
You'll notice that I'm all for makeup products that are good for everyday wear and are extremely versatile. This lip pencil is something that I've constantly been applying (I just picked up a second one yesterday). Again, subtle, but not too subtle. Wonderful for everyday but can also be used for a more "complex" look.
It can be a little tricky for me sometimes to find a concealer that matches my skin tone, especially because I easily tan. I have to say that this concealer from Benefit really does do the trick. Perfect for covering up slight imperfections and covering up those dark circles. I find that it lasts me the entire day and doesn't make my skin oily at all (which I've found can be an issue with previous products). I got mine in "medium."
I find that I'm constantly switching mascaras, but I think I've finally settled on one. I can truly say that this mascara lengthens your lashes to the very max. It does an excellent job with separating as well and I find that I'm very seldom combing out any clumps.
Unfortunately I wasn't blessed with eyelashes that naturally curl up, and so I have to make do with what I have. I have very straight eyelashes that tend to grow downwards, and so an excellent eyelash curler is a must for me. I love this one from Shu Uemura--it does the job extremely well, leaving you with beautiful eyelashes that don't make you look permanently shocked.
Like my mascara, I'm constantly switching up my eyeliner. I love this one from Too Faced. I tend to prefer a pencil rather than liquid liner, but find it difficult to sometimes apply eyeliner with a pencil as it doesn't go on smoothly. This eyeliner is the best of both worlds: Goes on smoothly like liquid, but has the look of pencil. Not to mention that it's waterproof--perfect for sweaty days in the summer. I got mine in "perfect brown."
I never have time to put a full face of foundation on so I've found this primer by Neutrogena to be a good substitute. I use it a lot in the summer because of its built in sunscreen. It's great for evening out your skin tone and covering up the slight redness around my eyes but doesn't involve the whole hassle of applying foundation.
I have "combination" skin, meaning I can get oily in some areas, and dry in others. This is why I love this face cream. I apply it right before I go to sleep (or in the morning if I need it) and wake up with completely matte but refreshed skin. Great for everyday use and for normal to oily skin types.
That's everything! Hope you guys enjoyed this post and please let me know if you have any questions down below in the comments. Until next time,
